Welcome to a guided tour about Catherine Opie's artistic practice to mark Trondheim Pride!
Join us for a pop-up tour of Catherine Opie’s diverse artistic practice. The tour will take place in the newly opened Catherine Opie Room, part of the PoMo Collection presentation on the second floor, and in the exhibition Mountains Don’t Know Their Names on the third floor. Opie’s photographs encourage us to think about visibility, representation and the powerful role images play in shaping how we see the world around us.
Catherine Opie is one of the most acclaimed photographers of our time. For more than three decades, she has used photography to explore questions of identity, community, belonging and representation. She is particularly known for her portraits of people and communities that have historically been underrepresented in both art history and public life, including LGBTQIA+ communities in the United States.
