The exhibition
History meets the present as PoMo opens its doors once again in Trondheim’s historic main post office building. The inaugural exhibition, Postcards from the
Future, showcases spectacular works from the museum’s own collection for the very first time. You’ll also find unique loans from both national and international museums, as well as private collections. With around 100 works on display, it offers a sneak peek at what PoMo has in store for the years ahead.

The building was designed in classic Art Nouveau style by architect Karl Norum and
completed in 1911. After an extensive renovation, it has finally reopened its doors to the world. The building's rich history provides the perfect backdrop for the exhibition, with the postcard serving as a unifying theme.

We’re presenting the exhibition as a series of small stories, with each artist having their own space. On floor 1 you’ll step straight into the building’s history and the iconic Posthall, once the beating heart of the main post office. On floor 2, you’ll encounter works that delve into complex emotional lives, psychology and dreamlike worlds. On floor 3 we focus on the diverse imagery of postcards, showcasing works that shed light on how we experience the world around us.
